Turmeric: Almond-Coconut Turmeric Snacks

Turmeric also helps to normalize blood sugar by improving insulin’s ability to bind to sugar. This is an antioxidant-rich tasty snack you will want time and time again. So, make a double batch and enjoy the anti-inflammatory benefits from the dried turmeric powder, twice!

Almond-Coconut Turmeric Snacks

Naomi Whittel

I love making these turmeric treats when I’m on the go, or want a snack at work. The fat from the coconut oil and the protein from the almond meal and sunflower seeds will provide a hearty snack that will sustain your energy and contribute to balanced blood sugars.

Almond-Coconut Turmeric Snacks

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup almond meal

  • 1/4 coconut flakes

  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

  • 2 tablespoons, plus 1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • 2 pitted dates, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon monk-fruit powder

  • 4 grams of Turmeric powder (if the powder is in milligrams – 4,000 milligrams), alternatively 8 capsules of turmeric powder, capsules emptied

  • Dash of black pepper

Directions

  1. Dried turmeric powder can taste bitter, especially if you’re not used to it. You can use fewer capsules/grams to adjust the taste to your liking. Turmeric can stain clothing and plastic, so take proper precaution when making these tasty bites!
