Intermittent fasting: Learn why skipping breakfast is actually good for you.



We’ve been told our entire lives, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”

What if I told you this might be the farthest thing from the truth?

Did you know back in the primal days of hunter-gatherer, there was no such thing as eating eight small meals a day. There was no ’fitness pal’ to track calories or macros.

The Ancestral routine was to hunt food all day and eat one meal at night. In fact, some days there may have been no food at all while other days may have been filled with bountiful harvests. Intermittent fasting (simply skip breakfast and wait to eat mid-day), allows the body to go back to primal programming and signals the body to use fat stores for energy.

Another benefit? Intermittent fasting also gives your digestive system a rest. It is so important to provide the digestive system a break. It is the largest system in the human body and if we are eating eight small meals a day, our digestive system is ALWAYS working.   

If our bodies are always digesting food, it doesn’t leave much room to work on anything else. It has little room to perform all of the other functions such as resting, building, repairing, restoring, and getting rid of bad cells in the body.
