Good Fats: Apple Avocado Smoothie Recipe

Share

One of my favorite things about fat is that it accentuates the natural sweetness already available to our taste buds from fruit. While an apple can feel mildly sweet when blended in smoothies, you don’t need to add additional sweeteners like honey or bananas to bring out more sweetness – just add more fat! Tea seed oil doesn’t have much flavor so it’s a great option for apple lovers looking to enjoy real apple flavor without junky artificial flavorings and chemicals. The best part? Tea seed oil is chock full of polyphenols which makes this oil a perfect match for the polyphenol-rich apple. Together, this combination has a synergistic impact on your health and protects you from heart disease, aging, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer as well as maintaining hormonal balance and a healthy GI tract! Enjoy this smoothie year-round but especially during the fall season when our immune systems need a boost and apples are at their peak freshness.
