The gradual process of hair loss and thinning can leave your confidence and self-esteem wounded. The odds alone are unpleasant to talk about – more than half of women, particularly over the age of 40, will experience noticeable hair loss. And it’s not uncommon for us to feel the pressure to look like our younger selves again, to want to regrow hair and bring back our confidence.
Hair loss in women is complicated and conventional treatments don’t always give women their desired result. Female hair loss can be hereditary, but hair loss can also be the result of stress, low iron, or a rollercoaster of hormones, especially during menopause. Therefore, fighting excess hair thinning from the inside out is an essential part of treatment by many regrowth specialists. In fact, regrowth specialists agree on three things:
- Use a multi-therapeutic approach to tackle shedding
- Be consistent with your treatment… even after you start to notice a difference
- Start by filling nutritional gaps immediately
You have a greater chance of restoring hair when you have a systematic plan. In a survey of physicians, 66% of dermatologists recommended dietary supplements to patients for hair, skin and nail health as part of that system. In fact, 72% of physicians and 89% of nurses take dietary supplements to help support their body’s needs.
Most hair, skin and nails supplements are made up of an assortment of vitamins and minerals that promote procollagen (which is the precursor to collagen formation) and keratin synthesis. These two structural proteins are already found in skin and other connective tissue in hair, nails, and your skin’s epidermis. Both are essential proteins in the make-up of healthy hair, skin and nails. Unfortunately, both also decline in production as you age.
If your goal is to reduce excess hair shedding and maintain more of your strands in the active anagen growth phase—then you may consider keratin supplements for stronger, healthier hair.
As I mentioned in my previous blog, Cynatine HNS is a science-backed keratin ingredient that’s rich in cysteine and 17 other amino acids that form the building blocks of healthy hair. Two published human studies reported the results of taking 500 MG of this revolutionary ingredient every day for 30, 60 and 90 days. Out of the five different tests that were used to measure results in these studies, the remarkable keratin supplement benefits were most evidently shown in the pull test – performed by taking sections of hair strands and gently tugging them to determine the extent of hair shedding. If the growth of the hair is in a healthy state, then more hairs will remain rooted, showing results of a normal anagen cycle.
You can see the full results of this study here, but most notably, the statistics showed the following:
- After 30 days, 16.9% saw improvement in hair loss
- After 60 days, 38.9% saw a reduction in hair loss
- After 90 days, 46.6% saw improvement in hair shedding
There are many supplements for your hair, skin and nails, but there are few formulated specifically with keratin for hair strength and growth.
In addition, in the clinical study, Cynatine HNS was paired with other ingredients and shown to further support hair health when combined altogether: zinc, copper, B6, and biotin. With this science-backed information in mind, I created the clinical strength Keratin supplement. It’s formulated with these key ingredients. In addition, I added my proprietary Resveratrol Complex blend of antioxidants to the formula – specifically to defend hair cells against free radicals.
To summarize, taking keratin for thin hair can show amazing results, especially when it is paired with biotin, and the other powerful ingredients I have included in the Keratin formula. The studies have shown that when these vitamins, minerals, and proteins work in combination, the results are simply healthier, thicker hair. Without having to buy separate supplements, Keratin with Biotin & Resveratrol can help you get your glow back from the inside out.
